Leadership is the most talked-about subject and every organization invests time, money and effort in building a leadership pipeline to sustain and grow. Over the years there has been a lot of debate over the leadership competencies and behaviors. I delved upon this topic for many years now, attended workshops and read extensively about it. As a part of my research on the topic, I went through reports published by Deloitte, Harvard Business Review, Ernst & Young among others. Also, over 25 years of my career I interacted with people from all over India and some parts of the world. I worked under various leaders and for the past five years, I have conducted leadership workshops across industries. I had the opportunity to interact with many senior leaders in organizations as well. With all these experiences and understanding I narrowed it down to ten competencies and leader behaviors.
